LA HAVA : Should be FOOT or PIES. In this case it is being used to define very big feet. Origin unknown.

LA NAPIA : It Should be NOSE or NARIZ being used to define a very big nose. Origin unknown unless it is that Lord Napier of Magdala, one time Governor of Gibraltar had a large nose.

LA RENTA : From the English RENT. The Spanish is ALQUILER.

LA SERA : Should be LA ACERA. In English it is the PAVEMENT. See also MARCHAPIE.

LEGI : Should be LEGGINGS a sort of GAITERS. The Spanish is ESPOLAINAS.

LESTIMO : Bad Spanish for LASTIMO. "SE LESTIMO", i.e., "HE HURT HIMSELF".

LILO : Name given to any inflatable rubber/plastic mattress. From the well known trade name of LILO. "LAS OLAS ESTAN BUENAS HOY PARA EL LILO", i.e., "THE WAVES ARE GREAT TODAY FOR THE LILO", in other words "IT'S GREAT FOR SURFING TODAY".

LINE : DEL LINE is a term from the game of Marbles. PASS DEL LINE is the base line or start line. PASS DE AL LADO are the side lines.

LIQUIRBA : Should be LIQUORICE BAR. The Spanish is REGALIZ.

LISTERO DEL ARESENAL: This is a name given to the RECORDERS OR WORK in the Dockyard. LISTERO may derive from LISTA which means REGISTER in Spanish. Therefore we have a KEEPER OF REGISTER or ATTENDANCE.

LONGI : HACERSE EL LONGI. This means to become inconspicuous or to skive. Origin unknown.

LOSCRENES : Should be THE CRANES. In Spanish it is LAS GRUAS.

LOTE : Wrong use of the word LOTE when referring to a group of things, it should be GRUPO or MUCHO, e.g., "UN LOTE DE GENTE", should be "UN GRUPO DE GENTE", or "MUCHA GENTE". LOTE refers to an Auction where things are sold by LOT/LOTE.
